POSITIVE SERVICES has its own dispatch center, which is essential
for monitoring alarm systems around the clock. POSITIVE SERVICES
carries monitoring either by radio or by phone, depending
on its clients demands.
Radio monitoring is two-way, enabling automated
conversation with the alarm system on site (e.g. the client's
home), every 12 hours. It provides for instant communication
between the POSITIVE Dispatch Center and the local alarm system,
allowing for fast discovery of any possible sabotage or flaw.
POSITIVE SERVICES operates its own frequency licensed by the
IGC (National Agency for Communications). This is a notable
advantage, as the frequency never gets overcrowded and communications
are kept at the optimal level. Radio monitoring is done through
a radio relayer that connects the POSITIVE Dispatch Center
with the local alarm system. Installation of the latter one
is free of charge, while the device itself is upholded by
the client during the contract's lifetime.
Phone monitoring allows for a huge transfer
of data regarding the status of the monitored system. The
appliance involved in data exchange is included in all the
phone switchboards installed by POSITIVE or it can be set
up separately, for connecting those sites which have been
already connected to a local alarm system.
The phone monitoring
equipment is made in Canada and is able to decode most of
the communication protocols coming in from any local alarm
system. The equipment is specially conceived for small-risk
sites, as most domestic residences are, because surveying
the phone is simple enough and the line rental is low.
The ideal case comprises connecting the site through both
systems. The first alarm signal will be received by radio,
prompting the intervention crew to start instantly. After
the time needed for connecting the phone to the POSITIVE Dispatch
Center (about 20 seconds) the relevant signal will get through,
carrying a whole array of data, regarding the specific origin
and reasons of that alarm.
When a specific alarm signal is received at the POSITIVE Dispatch
Center, the Quick Intervention Force crew which is closest
to the alarm origin is radio alerted and directed straight
to the site involved. The next step is announcing those persons
that have been nominated by the client in the Monitoring and
Intervention Contract. When the POSITIVE SERVICES dispatcher
asks, they will confirm their status as contact persons (using
a preset codeword), and will give details about the situation
of the site at that time, feeding the information to the QIF
crews.
The signals monitored by POSITIVE SERVICES are as follows:
panic
signals (hold-up)
- burglary signals
- fire signals
- waterflow signals
- gas leak signals
- medical emergency signals
Monitoring a local alarm system that was installed by POSITIVE
SERVICES itself, will lead to a higher guarantee period -
increasing from 12 to 48 months. That system will be surveyed
and serviced free of charge under the same conditions specified
in the initial contract.
